Renewal North Receives Official Charity Status
We are very pleased to share that Renewal North has officially received charitable status approval from the Canada Revenue Agency as of today.
This is an important milestone for our organization and for the work being done to support survivors and workers in transition. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported Renewal North since our incorporation and throughout the application process. Your generosity and encouragement helped make it possible for us to continue providing therapy support and care while we awaited this decision.
The Canada Revenue Agency has assigned an effective registration date of January 1, 2026. This means that all eligible donations received by Renewal North during 2026 will qualify for official charitable tax receipts.
Over the coming months, we will be working through the administrative steps required to organize receipting and ensure everything is completed properly. Donors can expect to receive official tax receipts in early 2027.
We also recognize and appreciate those who supported Renewal North before charitable status was approved, understanding that donations at that time would not yet qualify for tax receipting. Your willingness to stand with us during that stage helped establish the foundation for the work we are able to do today.
As we move forward into this next chapter, we remain committed to supporting survivors and transitioning workers with care, transparency, and accountability. We look forward to sharing more updates in the months ahead.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported Renewal North and helped make this milestone possible.

May 2026 Update
We wanted to share a brief update on the work being done through Renewal North. It has been well over a year since we first met as a group, almost a year since we incorporated, and now eight months since funding our first therapy sessions—with your help, we are grateful to have supported 8 survivors and assisted 2 transitioning workers so far. Each of these represents a real individual with a unique story, and it is a privilege to be able to walk alongside them in a meaningful way. This progress has only been possible because of the generosity of those who have chosen to support our survivors and workers in transition.
While our current funds will sustain therapy commitments for the next few months, we have seen new requests and an increase in survivor needs. These requests often come at critical moments, and timely access to support can make a significant difference. As a result, there is an urgent gap to address in the near term, and we are actively working to ensure that care remains accessible to those who are reaching out.
If you have supported us in the past, thank you. Whether it is a one-time donation or a monthly contribution, it truly makes a difference and directly enables this work to continue. We applied for charity status shortly after we incorporated, but in Canada, this process can take time. We understand that many are looking forward to the ability to receive tax receipts, and we are hopeful to hear back this year regarding our application. Once approved, we look forward to being able to issue tax receipts for donations going forward at that point. You can read more on our charity application process here.
In the meantime, the need remains. If you are in a position to give, we would be grateful for your consideration as we continue to respond to these growing needs. Ongoing support allows us to plan ahead, respond more quickly, and extend care to more individuals who are seeking help. You are able to donate via our Donate page.
Thank you for standing with us and helping make this support possible. Please reach out to those you know who may not be aware of Renewal North here in Canada. With your assistance, we hope to spread the word that help is available.

Renewal North’s Charity Application In Progress
Update (May 6th, 2026) – Renewal North has now been approved for charitable status by the Canada Revenue Agency. We are grateful for this milestone and will share further details soon regarding tax receipting and next steps.
We would like to provide an update to our community regarding Renewal North’s application for charitable status.
Renewal North applied for charitable status with the Canada Revenue Agency in the third quarter of 2025. This is an important step in the long-term development of the organization, as it will allow us to operate as a registered charity in Canada and issue official donation receipts for income tax purposes.
As many are aware, the charitable status application process in Canada can take time. It is common for reviews to take upwards of a year or longer, depending on the application and any follow-up requirements. We are currently in this waiting period and are hopeful to hear back in the coming months regarding the status of our application and any additional steps that may be required. We will share updates as soon as we have new information.
We understand that many people are looking forward to Renewal North being able to issue tax receipts for donations, and we share that goal. Becoming a registered charity will strengthen our ability to sustain and grow the support we provide.
In the meantime, Renewal North is operating as a non-profit organization and does not yet have the ability to issue tax receipts. Donations made prior to receiving charitable status are not eligible for tax receipts. We want to ensure this is clearly communicated so that donors can make informed decisions.
At the same time, the needs we support continue to be present and, in some cases, increasing. Renewal North provides therapy and support for survivors and transitioning workers, and there is ongoing demand for this care. Financial support during this period continues to have a direct and meaningful impact.
We are deeply grateful for those who continue to support this work. We will provide further updates as we learn more about our application. Thank you for your patience and ongoing support of Renewal North.

November 2025 Update
When Renewal North first began accepting contributions, in August 2025, we hoped to be able to make a difference and to change lives for the better. We are pleased to share that, thanks to your generosity, we have begun distributing funds to our first survivors and transitioning workers! This is a big milestone in our progress toward filling the void we saw in the support network that was available to Canadian survivors of the two-by-two church.
Be sure to check out our website! As it outlines, our goal is to assist in two specific areas: funding therapies for survivors of child or adult sexual abuse; and helping to secure the financial well-being of workers who are transitioning out of being active in the two-by-two ministry. You may also be interested in checking out our blog.
This goal is an ongoing effort, so if you are interested, please consider donating again in the future. You can also help by volunteering or talking to others about Renewal North and the cause. More donations and more volunteers mean we are more able to assist those who need support.
As Renewal North gains traction in our efforts, we will be providing more detailed financial reporting on our website, focusing on being fiscally transparent while protecting the privacy of our recipients and donors who do not wish to have their identities known.
Special thanks are sent to Bridges & Balm for assistance in getting started and giving great advice, and Pathways 2 Healing Network for their partnership in connecting survivors to professional therapy and their confidential care. These resources allow Renewal North to focus on fundraising, knowing that our funds are reaching those who need them most.
We are glad that you have been here for our beginning, and we look forward to our continued journey together toward whatever lies ahead.
With gratitude,
The Board of Renewal North

Pine Lake Fundraising – 2025
Renewal North was excited to be a part of the Pine Lake get together at the end of August. Special thanks to the hosts, Merle & Georgina, for having us as the recipient from the silent auction funds and for the leftover funds at the end of the weekend. It raised over $4,000 and helped to spread the word. It has allowed us to take on support of therapy costs for our very first survivor here in Canada!
